ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, Match-1: Scotland failed to get the momentum and could not level with Bangladesh’s attack in the opening match of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. Though Sarah Bryce stabilized the innings, other batters didn’t support her, and this innings lacked aggressive scoring.

It was tricky for the Scottish batters to get used to the Bangladesh bowlers who maintained a slower over rate and hence threw up regular wickets which put extreme pressure on the side. Halfway through the innings, it was thought that Bangladesh was 20 runs short of what might have been a competitive total.
Interestingly, This is Bangladesh’s first win in a decade while playing in the T20 World Cup.

Their bowlers did incredibly well in maintaining the tight lines, scoreboard pressure, and crucial wickets.
Both the teams showed some normal fielding with many drops.
But Bangladesh’s fielding proved just a fraction better as it did the all-important job of winning them this opening match.
Ritu Moni won the “Player of the Match” for her exemplary bowling against the Scottish side.
