News Alert! India Gears Up For Border-Gavaskar Trophy With Warm-Up Clash! News24 –

Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, warm-ups: India will play an internal practice game against the visiting India A at WACA, Perth, from November 15 to 17. The three-day practice game will give the team some time before the new Perth Stadium hosts the series-opening first Test on November 22. India A reaches Australia several weeks ahead of the rest of the side for a couple of games.

India A Fixture

The warm-up match will see India A, most likely to be led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, playing two matches against Australia A. The first of these is scheduled between October 31 and November 3 at the Great Barrier Reef Arena, followed by the other from 7 to 10 November at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Team Announcement For India A

It is yet to announce its India A counterpart, though that could happen this week, while Australia A will be announced by chief selector George Bailey on Monday, October 14, as he takes over to address a media conference at 2 PM AEST. Cameron Green’s availability for the Test series remains uncertain due to an injury in his back.

No Official Warm-Up Matches To Be Played

A Cricket Australia official clarified that no official warm-up games have been scheduled for India, and the tradition of playing warm-up games has become quite minimal over the last few years, he added. The Australian cricket team also did not play any warm-up games when it toured India last time to play a four-Test series, which took place in February- March 2023.

It’s an internal match, so it is up to India how they utilize it. Some Test players may participate in the India A games, but that’s a decision for the BCCI,” the CA official said.

Excitement For The Series!

It’s an important series and the first long overdue five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy in nearly 30 years. Hosting A matches at the upgraded Great Barrier Reef Arena and the MCG provides great opportunities for players to showcase their skills for selection.”

The series will continue after the opening Test in Perth to Adelaide December 6-10, Brisbane December 14-18, Melbourne December 26-30, and Sydney January 3-7.
