Baba Siddique, former Maharashtra minister, was shot dead on October 12 outside his son Zeeshan’s office in Mumbai. He shared a close bond with several celebrities in the film industry including Bollywood star Salman Khan and was well known for hosting lavish iftar parties every year. Salman recently arrived at Siddique’s residence to pay his last respects and became teary-eyed.
The actor was seen fighting back his tears as he arrived at Siddique’s residence with police personnel and security guards. Earlier, Salman Khan also reached Lilavati Hospital, where Baba Siddique was taken after being shot.
Meanwhile, Hindustan Times reported that Baba Siddique was unconscious and exhibited severe blood loss upon his arrival at the hospital. The doctors attempted to save him for nearly two hours, but all went in vain and he was declared dead at 11:27 pm.
On the question of whether Baba Siddique had died before being rushed to hospital, one of the doctors told PTI, “We undertook resuscitation, but Siddique was declared dead at 11.27 pm on Saturday.”
In Baba Siddique’s assassination, three shooters were involved and two have been arrested. Gurmail Baljit Singh (23) from Haryana and Dharamraj Kashyap (19) from Uttar Pradesh have been caught by the police. The third shooter, Shiv Kumar Gautam, also from Uttar Pradesh, is on the run.
According to a report by NDTV, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the murder of the former Maharashtra minister. Salman Khan’s security has also been increased after the incident and the police personnel were seen outside his residence. The actor has been a target of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang since 1998 after the black buck hunting case.
On April 14, 2024, two motorcycle riders opened fire outside Salman’s Galaxy Apartment in the Bandra area of Mumbai. The police alleged that the suspects were involved with Lawrence Bishnoi.
