Heavy Rain To Lash Andhra Pradesh, Severe Cold Wave Warning For Himachal Pradesh; Check Forecast News24 –
IMD Weather Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall over Coastal Andhra Pradesh today. It has issued severe cold wave Warning for Himachal Pradesh, West Rajasthan during 20-21st December. The Met Department has forecasted cold wave conditions likely to prevail over major parts of northwest India during next 5-7 days.
About the existing weather system, IMD stated that a fresh and active Western Disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan region & adjoining plains from 27th December 2024.
Rainfall Forecast
Coastal Andhra Pradesh is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall today.
Light to moderate rainfall has been predicted over North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Rayalaseema on 20th December.
Coastal Odisha and coastal Gangetic west Bengal are expected to receive light rainfall on 20th– 21st, over Assam, Meghalaya during 21st – 23rd, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during 20th -24th December.

Temperature, Cold Wave And Fog Forecast
Temperature Conditions
IMD observed that minimum temperatures were below 0°C over most parts of Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh; 1-5°C over Himachal Pradesh, 3-6°C over major parts of Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Rajasthan; 6-12°C over most parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Central India.
Forecast Of Temperature
IMD has stated that no significant change will occur in minimum temperatures over Northwest India during next 3 days. However, there will be a gradual rise by about 2℃ thereafter.
Similarly, no significant change in minimum temperatures will take place over Gujarat during next 5 days.
There will be rise in minimum temperatures by 2-3℃ likely over Maharashtra, Central India during next 5 days.

IMD has forecasted cold wave conditions over some parts of Punjab on 20th; Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad during 20th-25th, Haryana-Chandigarh during 20th-21st, West Rajasthan on 22nd– 23rd,Himachal Pradesh on 24th-25th December.

Dense Fog Warnings
Dense fog warning has been issued for parts of Punjab, Haryana on 20th, during 22nd-24th, Uttar Pradesh till 20th, East Rajasthan, Jharkhand during 20th-22nd, West Bengal, Sikkim and Bihar on 21st and 22nd December.
Ground Frost Warnings
Ground Frost conditions is likely to prevail in isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh during 20th-23rd December.
Snowfall Prediction
Meteorological Centre, Srinagar has predicted generally cloudy with light Snow over few higher reaches towards evening/night of 21 to 22 December early morning.
Weather Forecast For Delhi
Delhi will have mainly clear sky with smog/shallow fog is likely in the evening/night. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow alert for today with maximum temperature predicted at 24 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature at 6 degrees Celsius.
