Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: Good News! The highly-anticipated Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is set to be open to the public. The 6-lane Greenfield Expressway is expected to cut down the travel time drastically. Commuters are eagerly awaiting the day the journey which earlier took 6 to 6.5 hours to be covered in just 2.5 hours now. The excitement surrounding the expressway’s opening has been building since 2024 but the wait is finally over. Fresh pictures of the construction of the expressway have recently surfaced adding to the excitement of the commuters.

When Will The Expressway Open?
The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway was earlier expected to be operational by December last year but the opening was delayed. According to reports, the project has been progressing at a rapid pace and the expressway is expected to be open soon.
Construction Cost Of 210-Km-Long Stretch
The 210-km-long stretch is being reportedly built at a cost of Rs 13,000 crore. There is a strong optimism that it will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi this year soon.
Key Features Of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway
The expressway will include impressive features like 113 vehicular underpasses, 5 railway over-bridges, and a 12 km long elevated wildlife corridor above the Rajaji National Park. Besides, reducing travel time, the expressway will enhance productivity, boost connectivity and ease traffic congestion, thus proving to be a real game-changer.
The expressway is being constructed in 4 phases.
1st Phase: Akshardham – Delhi – UP Border
2nd Phase: EPE Crossing – Saharanpur Bypass
3rd Phase: Saharanpur Bypass – Ganeshpur
4th Phase: Ganeshpur – Dehradun
