Eight armed, unidentified men ambushed a Lahore-bound bus on Tuesday, claiming the lives of at least seven passengers. The attack occurred in the Barkhan district of Balochistan, according to officials.

A Reuters report stated that a gang of approximately 40 armed men stopped several buses and vehicles. Quoting Deputy Commissioner Waqar Khurshid Alam, a senior administrative official, Reuters added that seven passengers were taken off the bus and shot dead.

All seven victims were from the central Punjab province. Khadim Hussain, the assistant commissioner of the region, told Reuters that the killings occurred along a highway connecting Barkhan to the southern city of Dera Ghazi Khan in Punjab.”
