The work to connect the Yamuna Expressway will begin next week. The team from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has already completed the land survey for the interchange, and the design is almost ready. Construction will start as soon as the paperwork is complete. The eight-loop interchange is expected to be finished this year. It will be built on 60 hectares of land at a cost of about 270 crore rupees.
An official said that the Yamuna Expressway will be connected to the KGP at Jaganpur-Afsalpur, which is 10 kilometers from the Zero Point. The land for this project has already been acquired. In the past few days, 77 affected farmers have received 7% of the land compensation, and 60 more farmers will receive their land by March. The interchange will be built by NHAI, with an estimated cost of 270 crore rupees.
To connect both expressways, eight loops will be built at the interchange, covering a total of 11 kilometers. Four loops will be for entering, and four will be for exiting. Travelers using this expressway won’t face traffic jams when entering or exiting the interchange.
With both expressways connected, people from Ghaziabad, Hapur, and Meerut will no longer need to go to Greater Noida Pari Chowk to get onto the Yamuna Expressway to travel towards Agra. This new connection will allow them to directly get onto the Yamuna Expressway from the Eastern Peripheral Expressway after passing through Duhai and Dasna. Additionally, travelers coming from Mathura and Agra won’t have to take a 20-kilometer detour to get onto the Peripheral Expressway, saving both fuel and time.
