On account of MahaShivaratri, banks will remain closed on certain states on February 25. Apart from Maharashtra, banks will remain closed in the states like Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Mizoram, Haryana, and Uttarakhand. Maha Sivratri, dedicated to Lord Shiva is among the most significant festivals in the Hindu religion. The day is observed as a public holiday across many states.
As per the RBI holiday calendar, bank branches will remain closed on Mahashivratri, affecting in-person banking services. However, customers can still access online banking, UPI, and ATM facilities without any disruption. Normal branch operations will resume on Thursday, February 27.
Bank holidays vary across states, depending on regional festivals and local celebrations. Customers are advised to check with their respective branches for Mahashivratri’s operational status.

Remaining Bank Holidays in February 2025 As per the RBI holiday calendar
As per the RBI holiday calendar, besides the regular closures on the second and fourth Saturdays, there were a total of eight public holidays this month. With most of them already observed, banks will remain closed on February 26 for Maha Shivratri and on February 28 for Losar (in Sikkim).
