Sudiksha Konanki, an Indian student based in the U.S., went missing in the Dominican Republic while on her spring break. Her last image, captured in a bikini with a sweet smile, now haunts her family and friends. The 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student disappeared on March 6. She has been a permanent U.S. resident since 2006. She was last spotted on the beach of Riu Republica Hotel in Punta Cana. A missing person notice identified Konanki as “5 feet 3 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes.”

“She was wearing a brown bikini, large round earrings, a metal designer anklet on her right leg and yellow and steel bracelets on her right hand and a multi-coloured beaded bracelet on her left hand.”

Various report said that the United States is sending federal personnel to the Dominican Republic to locate Sudiksha, a University of Pittsburgh student who went missing on her spring break trip.

What Sudiksha’s Friends Said

According to a CNN report, Konanki’s companions had reported her missing around 4 p.m. Thursday local time, with her last sighting some 12 hours earlier at 4 a.m., the Riu hotel chain said in a statement.

“We want to express our sincerest empathy towards the family and friends during this very difficult time. The safety and wellbeing of our guests are our highest priority, and we are committed to doing everything possible to assist in this situation,” the statement said.

Sudiksha Konanki was enjoying her spring break at a resort in the Dominican Republic with five of her fellow female classmates from the University of Pittsburgh. According to the sheriff’s office in Loudoun County, Virginia—where she resides—she was last seen at the resort before she went missing.

Who Is Sudiksha Konanki

As per the police, Ms Konanki is a University of Pittsburgh student. Her father told CNN that his daughter had gone to Punta Cana for spring break, ahead of pre-med studies at Pittsburgh.

“My daughter is a very nice girl. She’s ambitious. She wanted to pursue a career in medicine,” Subbarayudu Konanki said, adding that his daughter wants to be a doctor.

Sudiksha Konanki is a dedicated student pursuing chemistry and biological sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. In 2022, she earned a diploma in biological sciences from the prestigious Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, according to her LinkedIn profile. The Konanki family, originally from India, has lived in the United States since 2006 and are permanent residents.
