The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a program called Saugat-e-Modi to celebrate Ramadan and upcoming religious holidays, including Eid, Good Friday, Easter, Navroz, and the Indian Samvat New Year. The campaign aims to serve underprivileged communities.
The BJP has made arrangements to hold Eid Milan festivities in various locations across India. Under the national leadership of BJP Minority Morcha President Jamal Siddiqui, the party plans to provide aid to 32 lakh needy individuals. According to reports, the BJP has scheduled district-level Eid Milan functions across all regions of India.
In an interview with News 24, Jamal Siddiqui, National President of the BJP Minority Morcha, explained that 32,000 front officials will identify and distribute Saugat-e-Modi kits—containing essential items—to 32 lakh needy people through a network of 32,000 mosques. He emphasized that the month of Ramadan calls for helping underprivileged neighbors and family members with sincerity.
The BJP launched this program with the goal of engaging 32,000 officials from the BJP Minority Morcha. These officials, in collaboration with mosque committees, will identify 100 needy individuals each before distributing the Saugat-e-Modi gift kits. Recipients will receive all necessary items within the kits.
The distribution of Saugat-e-Modi kits will take place during four major events: Good Friday, Easter, Navroz, and the Indian New Year. According to the BJP, this initiative serves as a demonstration of the cultural values of Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb (the syncretic fusion of Hindu and Muslim traditions).
