Delhi Weather Update: Delhi is currently enjoying a pleasant weather with days turning warmer. The cold spell in the national capital has ended and the weather has become milder now. A rise in maximum temperature has been observed, which is further expected to increase by the end of March. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted maximum temperature to soar to 37 degrees Celsius this week. This data indicates that Delhi might touch 40 degrees Celsius by the end of the month. Moreover, other parts of the country have already started to experience heat wave.
Weather Forecast For 18 March
The weather in Delhi today, 18 March (Tuesday) will be mild with mainly clear sky. Surface winds (speed 10-20 kmph) occasionally gusting to 30 km/hr will prevail during day. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to remain 32 and 17 degrees Celsius respectively. No other specific warning regarding the weather has been issued by the IMD.
The IMD further stated that there has been fall in minimum temperatures and maximum temperatures over Delhi-NCR during the past 24 hours. At present, the maximum and minimum temperatures are in the range of 28 to 30°C and 15 to 17°C respectively.
Delhi Weather Update: Forecast For This Week
The maximum temperature is expected to remain 37 degrees Celsius on 20th March. It will remain 35 degrees Celsius on 21 and 22 March. The temperature will again climb to 37 degrees Celsius on 23rd March. Delhi will experience strong surface winds during day on 19th March as well. Partly cloudy sky has been predicted on 19th and 20th March. The data indicates that warmer days are ahead for Delhi, with temperatures expected to rise significantly this week. Meanwhile, a fresh western disturbance is going to affect western Himalayan region from 19th March. Under its influence, north eastern states are expected to receive rainfall.
Delhi AQI
The air quality in the national capital continues to remain in the ‘moderate’ category. On Tuesday, at 6 am the AQI was recorded at 128, according to the CPCB. Favourable meteorological conditions have led to the improvement in the AQI.
