NHAI Hikes Toll Rates On Highways And Expressways From April 1; Here Are The Revised Rates News24 –

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has raised toll taxes for Indian expressways and highways from April 1, 2025. Due to this the travel cost will increase. Starting April 1, 2025, both daily commuting public and commercial transport operators using key routes such as the Lucknow highways, Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, NH-9, and Delhi-Jaipur highway need to pay updated toll charges.

The toll tax rose for a second time since June 2024 during the previous rise period. The NHAI distributed communications which contain new toll fee information for different tolling areas. The toll rates for automobiles and heavy vehicles on Lucknow-Kanpur and Ayodhya, Raebareli, and Barabanki highways have experienced a rise between INR 5 and INR 10 and INR 20 to INR 25 respectively. The newly increased tolls affect the tolling system across the Delhi-Meerut Expressway as well as the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and NH-9. The toll fee upgrade for vehicles moving from Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut by car or jeep amounts to Rs170 as a one-way payment instead of the previous Rs165. Light commercial vehicles and buses are subjected to Rs 275 for each journey whereas trucks need to pay Rs 580 for each trip.

Travelers at Chhijarsi toll plaza on NH-9 must pay Rs 175 for their car vehicle, light commercial vehicles need to pay Rs 280 and buses will have to pay Rs 590 as toll. Vehicles possessing more than seven axles will experience the most substantial toll rate increase as the total toll becomes Rs 590 higher. Thus the toll charge between Ghaziabad and Meerut will grow from Rs 70 to Rs 75.

Additional changes will transform the toll operations at Kherki Daula plaza on Delhi-Jaipur highway. Cars as well as jeeps will still maintain their current toll rates however larger vehicles must now pay Rs 5 additional fee per journey. Passengers at Kherki Daula toll plaza can expect Rs 950 for their monthly pass starting from Rs 930 and commercial cars and jeeps will pay Rs 85 per trip instead of Rs 80 and both options will incur higher monthly costs of Rs 1255 from Rs 1225. A single toll journey for Light Motor Vehicles and minibusses will increase from Rs 120 to Rs 125, as per reports.
