Windows OS On A Pixel Watch! PHD Student Achieves The Impossible! News24 –

Tech Enthusiasts and fans often step beyond the usual discussions and debates in forums and instill innovations that amaze the whole industry. The impetus to do so often starts with the aim of salvaging older tech to work like new, and possibly in a similar bid a PHD student got Windows OS running on his pixel watch.

Gustave Monce, and a few others led to the WOA project that has achieved this feat. Getting Windows to run on a watch was not exactly a piece of cake, the whole project took considerable time. As per the information shared by Monce on his blog post he had to initially inspect a rooted Boot Image and followed by modifying the Stock UEFI to run the custom one.

Beyond that, the user had to modify the ACPI table and patch other files before the watch could accept and run on the new Windows PE (The Light Weight Version of the Full Fledged Windows Application).

The patch did not work as expected the watch with its internals specifically built to work on the Pixel watch os could not support the windows OS. The user further delineated that he started working on it as a prank but as he dived deeper into the project it became interesting for him.

Repurposing old iPads As E-Readers

Often iPad’ lose their lustre as they are used for years and years and if you plan to buy a new one the old devices might just wither and go to waste. You can step beyond such a scenario by converting your old iPads into e-readers just like the Kindle. For this, you can either download E-book reader applications such as the Moon Reader as well as other applications such as Feedly, Pocket, Flipboard and Google Books.

If you really want your device to have minimalist appeal you can take on an ambitious plan to boot the device and use a Raspberry Pi or any other linux based open source OS to work on your device and use it as a primary reader. A great deal of users have shared their experience online in Doing so, But this would require considerable skills and technical know-how, just downloading the applications that enable reading on the stock Apple OS might be a better choice.
