Retired Air Force Officer’s Car Rams Into Ice-Cream Cart Killing An Elderly Man In Greater Noida News24 –


Greater Noida: A shocking incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida late night on Sunday. An old man was reportedly killed after a car rammed into the ice-cream cart where he was sitting. Upon receiving information, the police immediately reached the spot and seized the accused’s car. According to reports, the car owner has been taken into custody and the body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem examination.

Man Dies During Treatment

Reports revealed that the incident occurred around 12 am on Sunday when the speeding car lost control and hit the ice-cream cart near Ryan roundabout in Thana Beta 2 area. The old man initially sustained injuries post which he was rushed to a nearby hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries later while receiving medical treatment.

Accused Was Retired Air Force Officer

Police suspect that the accused, identified as a retired Air Force officer, was driving the car under the influence of alcohol. Based on the complaint of victim’s family, a case under different sections of the IPC was registered – Sections 281, 125 (B) and 106. According to the station in-charge, the deceased, identified as Abhishek (25), was a resident of Koni village Koni Post in Bihar. He was currently residing in Tugalpur village in Greater Noida. Meanwhile, the police has assured a thorough investigation into the matter.

TV Director Rams SUV Into Crowd In Kolkata

In yet another similar incident that occurred on Sunday, a speeding car drove into a crowd at a busy market in South Kolkata. One person died, and six others were seriously injured. Police said that a TV serial director and an executive producer from a well-known Bengali entertainment channel were inside the car when the accident happened. After the crash, angry locals stopped the car and beat up both people inside before handing them over to the police. When officers arrived to control the situation, one of the passengers, Shriya Basu, seemed drunk and collapsed on the road.
