Man Sends Wife Triple Talaq Via ‘Speed Post’ After She Gives Birth To A Daughter In Uttar Pradesh – Woman Seeks Help From Yogi Adityanath News24 –
Jhansi News: A shocking case of triple talaq has emerged from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. After a woman gave birth to a daughter, her angry husband threw her out of the house. Although a compromise was initially reached following a police complaint, the husband later sent her triple talaq through speed post instead of reconciling.
On Tuesday, the woman approached the SSP office, demanding strict action by submitting a formal complaint. She has also appealed to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, asserting that triple talaq is illegal under Shariat law and urging that her husband be held accountable. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
Reason For Triple Talaq
In 2018, Shabina Bano, a resident of Sipri Bazaar in Jhansi, married Dilshad from Madhya Pradesh. The couple settled in Jhansi after their wedding. However, tensions began to rise after Shabina gave birth to a daughter. Her husband and in-laws allegedly started taunting her, which led to frequent arguments. Over time, her in-laws reportedly tried to force her out of the house.
Shabina claims she has been living at her maternal home ever since, as her husband has refused to take her back. Recently, he allegedly sent her a triple talaq notice via speed post. The reason cited was the birth of a daughter to the couple.
She also alleges that her husband abandoned her solely for giving birth to a girl child. According to her, when she lodged a complaint, the police facilitated a compromise between her and her husband’s family. He had promised to come and take her back on a specific date, but just four days before that, he sent her a talaqnama under Shariat law — an act she says is illegal.
Shabina Appeals to CM Yogi Adityanath for Help
Shabina made an emotional appeal to the Chief Minister, saying, “I want Yogi ji to give me justice. I want to live with my husband, but he is refusing to take me back just because I gave birth to a daughter. If I had given birth to a son, he would have kept me. My daughter is one year old, and I’ve been living at my maternal home for the past year. I have now come to the SSP office seeking justice.”
