Diljit Dosanjh Might Just Be the Next Desi Star At Met Gala 2025: Report

Popular Punjabi and Bollywood artist Diljit Dosanjh, loved for both his music and acting, is making waves again. According to India Today reports Dosanjh is expected to attend the Met Gala as Google Pixel’s ambassador, but his team has not yet confirmed these details. Kiara Advani is also rumoured to make her Met Gala debut this year.

This news comes after a huge run of international success for Diljit where he made history as the first Punjabi performer to take the stage at Coachella in 2023, and in 2024, he sold out BC Place stadium in Canada during his Dil-Luminati Tour.

Early 2024 saw another cultural crossover moment when British singer Ed Sheeran joined Dosanjh on stage in Mumbai, where Ed sang in Punjabi. Later that year, he became the first Indian artist on the cover of Billboard Canada.

Meanwhile on the work front, Diljit shared that he has finished the UK schedule of his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3. He shared a purposely blurred behind-the-scenes photo from the set with his back to the camera and co-stars faces hidden behind emojis, he captioned “Sardaar Ji UK shoot done” further adding “This June.” The film is directed by Amar Hundal and stars Gulshan Grover, Manav Vij, Nasir Chinyoti, Monica Sharma, and Saleem Albela.

Diljit also has another film coming up “Punjab 95” a film reportedly based on human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra who worked as a bank director in Amritsar during Punjab’s militancy period and was killed in 1990s. The film highlights Khalra’s efforts to expose illegal killings of Sikh youth by Punjab Police in the 1990s. However, the film has faced major challenges with the CBFC ( Central Board of Film Certification) reportedly suggesting 120 cuts.
