SunRisers Hyderabad’s current poor performance should not fool Punjab Kings batter Nehal Wadhera because he warns his team not to underestimate them ahead of their April 12 match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Before the match Wadhera spoke publicly to state that SunRisers Hyderabad still poses a challenging threat despite their recent performance weaknesses. Punjab Kings started IPL 2025 with three victories in their first four matches whereas SunRisers Hyderabad under Pat Cummins suffer from four back-to-back losses. SRH was forced to adopt a more conservative batting strategy because of their last few playing losses.
Nehal Wadhera Stresses Caution Against Struggling Yet Dangerous SRH Ahead Of Key IPL 2025 Clash
“It is very good for us that SRH are not doing very well. SRH is a very dangerous side. Though they lost a few games, it does not mean that they are of any less concern to us. They are definitely a strong team on paper as well. We are not taking this game any lightly. We are preparing equally hard as we did for the previous games. We are hopeful we can beat them in their home ground,” Nehal Wadhera said ahead of the match.
The leadership of Ricky Ponting has brought an exceptional level of self-assurance to Punjab Kings. The level of confidence transferred from Ponting to Iyer has fostered exceptional performance from his player this season. SRH present an opposing form to Punjab because they lost four straight matches without resistance.
Wadhera Praises Young PBKS Talent As Team Eyes Top Spot In IPL 2025 Standings
“All the guys look confident. We are in good touch and we are also confident for the upcoming match. Priyansh played one of the finest knocks in the IPL against CSK, and that too in in his fourth game of his first season. So, all the credit goes to him. Also, the way Shashank (Singh) batted was commendable. He built a strong partnership with Priyansh and (Marco) Jansen, which was really good,” Wadhera said.
Punjab Kings occupy position number five in the Indian Premier League points table with six points earned from playing four contests. Punjab Kings could gain the second or first position in the points table through a win today.
