Heavy Rain Warning For Bihar, Assam; Western Disturbance To Affect THESE States From April 16 News24 –


IMD Weather Update: Unpredictable weather conditions have brought significant changes across several states in the country. While many regions are experiencing light to heavy rainfall, others are facing the wrath of heat waves. According to IMD’s latest press release, there is a possibility of intense downpour over Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on 17th April. Residents of Assam and Meghalaya may face delay and disruption in traffic movement on the 16th & 17th of April due to rain.

Light Rain To Lash Northeast And East India

Due to an active upper cyclonic circulation and a trough, light to moderate rain, thunderstorms,
Lightning and gusty winds (speed 40-50 kmph) are likely over Northeast and East India during the next 5 days. Additionally, the plains of Central India and Maharashtra will receive more rain on 16th April. Meanwhile, the Met Department has predicted gusty winds traveling at a speed of 40 to 50 km/h over Jharkhand and Odisha from 16th to 18th April.

Tamil Nadu, Kerala Brace For Rain

Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are placed on rain alert from 17th to 18th April, while Bihar on the 15th. Light rainfall accompanied by lightning, thunderstorms, and gusty winds is predicted over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana, and Karnataka this week. Kerala and Mahe residents must brace up for light showers on 16th and 17th April.

Western Disturbance To Affect Western Himalayan Region From April 16

Due to a fresh Western Disturbance brewing over the Western Himalayan region, many northern regions will see significant changes in weather trends from 16th April. The affected states likely to experience light rain, lightning, thunderstorms, and squally winds on 18th and 19th April are Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, IMD has warned against isolated Duststorm/Thunderstorms over West Rajasthan on 16th and over East Rajasthan on 17th April.
