In a fortunate turn of events, four members of a tourist family were rescued safely after their Shikara boat capsized in the picturesque Dal Lake on Wednesday afternoon. The incident, which could have ended in tragedy, was swiftly managed by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and quick response teams.
According to officials, the tourist family was enjoying a leisurely outing on the lake when their boat overturned. Witnesses reported that the group was playfully shaking the Shikara, which ultimately led to the capsizing.
The head of the family, identified as Shwetang Murkya, along with his relatives, fell into the chilly waters of Dal Lake but was promptly rescued by emergency responders who were quick to act. Fortunately, all four individuals were unharmed and brought back to safety.
Authorities have since taken custody of the capsized boat for further inspection. An investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to ensure the safety of future visitors to the popular tourist destination.
