Ricky Rai, son of the late underworld don Muthappa Rai, got critically injured in a violent attack late Friday night. The incident took place around 12:30 am while Ricky was driving from his farmhouse in Bidadi to Bengaluru, accompanied by his driver and a gunman. The attackers, lying in ambush behind a wall near the farmhouse, fired two shots at the vehicle. During this, one of the bullets hit Ricky, who was seated in the back, causing severe injuries. Ricky was then shifted to the hospital.

Early investigations show Ricky came back from abroad just two days earlier and typically resides outside India, leading authorities to suspect that the attackers had been tracking his movements. Although Ricky is not directly tied to the underworld like his father, he has been involved in significant real estate ventures. A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has been dispatched to collect evidence, and a special police task force is working to apprehend the assailants.
