Seema Sajdeh Calls Divorce From Sohail Khan A ‘Catalyst’ For Personal Growth And Independence

Seema Sajdeh recently opened up about her divorce from Sohail Khan and how it became a turning point in her life. She shared that during her marriage, she had become very co-dependent and had to relearn how to do many things on her own after the split. She described the divorce as a “catalyst” and explained how one becomes so complacent in a marriage that they start blaming their partner for everything.

Speaking on The Healing Circle with Janice Sequeira, she said, “In a way, the divorce was a catalyst- it forced me to learn and grow. You become so complacent in a marriage that you start blaming your partner for everything. But relationships are hard, they require work every single day. There’s so much I’ve had to figure out on my own- like something as basic as health insurance after I had surgery. I had to learn it all.”

She added that now she feels more confident, travels alone, and doesn’t need anyone to feel complete  “I think I’m blossoming now, not because of the divorce alone, but because I’ve grown up. I’m independent, I can support myself, take care of myself. I have the confidence to walk into a restaurant alone, eat a meal, travel solo- and feel complete. We become so co-dependent that we end up blaming the marriage. But the truth is, I just hadn’t learned how to be by myself.”

Seema also shared her views on infidelity in the conversation, revealing that it’s not necessarily a deal breaker for her “I’m saying honestly, an affair is not a deal-breaker. We are human. You grow from it. And it also depends on what type of affair it was. Even if you’re thinking about someone, you’ve anyway cheated. The deal-breaker actually is to see how the two of you are going through life. Life is short, live it and be happy. Laughter is the best medicine, and the day you stop laughing together, it’s over.”

She added,“You should be able to reach a point where you like that person again. You shouldn’t hate that person… You tend to get so complacent in a marriage. At that time if you’d asked me, I would’ve blamed everything on him.”

Seema was married to Sohail Khan for 24 years (1998-2022) and they have two sons, Nirvan and Yohan. In the final episode of the third season of Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives it came to light that she is now dating Vikram Ahuja, her ex-fiance whom she had left for Sohail years ago.

Speaking to India Today she also opened up about her relationship with Vikram, she said it’s more complicated now because they both have kids and more responsibilities, but they’re making it work “It’s not been easy to navigate, especially from the point of view that we are not young anymore. I am not young. I have a history, I have two children, and my partner has two kids. There are a lot more people involved. It’s different when you break up and move on when you are younger. When you are older, you have to take everyone’s feelings and sentiments into account.”
