Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh: A shocking incident has emerged from Ghaziabad’s Modinagar police station area, where a man died by suicide, allegedly after enduring harassment and mental torture from his wife. According to News24 Reporter Shakti Singh, the man consumed poison, which led to his death. Following the incident, the deceased’s brother filed a complaint at the police station against the victim’s wife and her family members, based on the suicide note.

In the letter, the deceased had stated, “Flow my ashes in the River Ganges only when my wife and her family are punished.” Meanwhile, his elder brother Rahul Tyagi informed the Police that he lives in Krishnapuri with his family. His younger brother, the deceased, identified as Mohit Tyagi, got married for a second time to Priyanka Tyagi on December 10, 2020. The two had a son after their marriage.

Victim Alleges His Wife Tried To Kill His Son

Meanwhile, the suicide note mentioned that Priyanka started harassing his brother and his family after the marriage and even tried to kill Mohit’s son during pregnancy. Additionally, she started stealing money from the house and left with her brother after taking gold worth Rs 12 to 15 lakh along with all the cash kept in the locker.

The complainant alleged that shortly after Priyanka, her brother and maternal uncle started threatening to implicate the entire family in a dowry case. On November 10, 2024, he also complained about it to the police, but no hearing took place.

Mohit Committed Suicide On April 15

Reports added that on April 15, Mohit received a call from a policeman from the Sambhal police station about a written complaint filed by Priyanka against him. After this, Mohit became stressed, wrote a suicide note, and died by consuming poison.

Mohit was an engineer in an IT company in Noida. As per the latest update, Modinagar police have registered a case against wife Priyanka Tyagi, her brother Puneet Tyagi, sister-in-law Neetu Tyagi, maternal uncle Anil Tyagi, and Vishesh Tyagi based on the complaint of Rahul.

Last wish

Mohit particularly wrote in the suicide note that until Priyanka and all the others involved are not punished severely, do not immerse my ashes in the Ganga. He urged Women Commission, Police Administration, CM Yogi Adityanath and the judiciary, to not spare the criminals.

“If I don’t commit suicide, no one will believe my truth. I request the police administration with folded hands that all the culprits who forced me to commit suicide should be punished in such a way that they never try to trap any girl or her family in a false case. I, Mohit Tyagi, am committing suicide unwillingly to prove my innocence, and I hold my wife Priyanka Tyagi, Puneet Tyagi, Neetu Tyagi, Anil Tyagi, and Vishesh Tyagi responsible for my death,” he added.
