Orange Alert For Jammu-Kashmir On April 21; Heavy Rain, Winds Up To 50 kmph Likely In Tamil Nadu News24 –


IMD Weather Update: While some states are seeing no respite due to the ongoing heat wave conditions, others are experiencing rainfall accompanied by storms. Over the next few days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that many places will witness fluctuating weather conditions. The following climatic conditions will be characterized by occasional rain and rising temperatures.

Notably, IMD has predicted a fresh spell of heavy rain likely to impact Northeast India from 22nd April. On the other hand, the Weather Department noted a gradual decline in thunderstorm activity over the Eastern parts of India from the 21st onwards. Residents are therefore advised to be prepared for the seasonal change and stay alert and updated.

Orange Alert For Jammu-Kashmir

IMD has issued an orange alert for Jammu-Kashmir on 21st April. Light showers accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning & squally winds (gusting to 70 km/h) are expected to lash Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Met Department has issued a warning against three troughs, extending from central Assam to Tripura, central Pakistan & adjoining northwest Rajasthan to central parts of Bangladesh, and northeast Madhya Pradesh to the Gulf of Mannar, respectively.

Warning For Storm, Rain, Lightning, Gusty Wind

As per the official press release, dated 20th April, storm, rain, lightning, and gusty winds will affect Northeast India during the next 5 days. Similar conditions are also likely over East India during the next 3 days and over Chhattisgarh until 24th April. Meanwhile, a heavy rain warning is in place over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya from April 22nd to 24th.

More Rain In South

Coming to the southern part of India, the Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala & Mahe, and Telangana will witness rain, wind gusting to 50 Km/h, and lightning during the next 5 days.
