Why Marcus Stoinis Took Over As Captain From Shreyas Iyer During The Clash Against Royal Challengers? News24 –
In the contest against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the Punjab Kings failed to create an impact with the bat when Shreyas Iyer and company wound up their innings at 157/6 today at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh. No batter could put runs on the board. Young centurion Priyansh Arya also had to depart early today at just 22 runs. Captain Shreyas Iyer was sent back to the pavilion at just 6 runs when Krunal Pandya took a stunning catch. Iyer was later seen leaving the ground in the middle of 6th over during the RCB innings, and Marcus Stoinis was seen taking over as the captain for the time being. RCB’s Bowling Does The Job
Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered an outstanding death-bowling demonstration, which yielded only 28 runs from the final four overs. The last four overs led to only 28 runs being scored by Punjab as they missed their intended late-game success. Panther kept a strong start after their team captain selected to play first. The new ball specialist Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar failed to deliver their expected performance which allowed the PBKS openers to capitalize. A shift in bowling speed led RCB to receive better results.
The first wicket of the match went to Krunal who came on early during the game. The Punjab batting line lost its direction completely from the start of the middle-overs period onwards. The accurate bowling of RCB spinners successfully kept the opposition team on edge during their match. During their bowling performance, Krunal along with Suyash Sharma succeeded in taking two wickets each. The pitch appears to be moderately sluggish so PBKS will assess their performance as twenty-five runs under their target mark.
