Traffic Advisory Issued For April 21 – Key Restrictions, Diversions And Routes To Avoid News24 –


Special traffic arrangements will be in place in view of the United States Vice President JD Vance’s visit to India. JD Vance is expected to land in Delhi at around 9:30 am on Monday, sated the White House Press Pool. To ensure smooth traffic regulation on key routes during Vance’s visit, Delhi Traffic Police has released an advisory that will be effective on Monday. The traffic advisory has been released for different times of the day, a “special event” has been cited as the reason for the diversions and restrictions. The different times when restrictions will remain in effect are: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM and 06:00 PM to 09:00 PM. Notably, Vance is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 6:30 pm at his residence.
Delhi Traffic Police wrote on X, “Special traffic arrangements will be in place on 21.04.2025 (Monday) from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM due to a special event to ensure smooth traffic regulation.”

Following is the detailed Travel Advisory:

During 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Traffic restrictions & Diversions:

Delhi Traffic Police said that to facilitate smooth traffic management around Air Force, Thimmaiya Marg, Parade Road, Gurugram Road, Sardar Patel Road, and Dhaula Kuan Flyover, the following restrictions will be in effect:

No vehicle will be allowed to halt or park on Sardar Patel Marg, Gurugram Road, Parade Road, Thimmaiya Marg, and Air Force Road or surrounding areas. Improperly parked vehicles on these roads will be towed and prosecuted.

Commuters going towards 11 Murti to RML, are advised to use Vande Matram Marg from Dhaula Kuan Flyover to R/A Shankar Road, Talkatora Road and Sheikh Mujib-Ur-Rehman Marg to reach their destinations.

Commuters going towards Dhaula Kuan Flyover from IGI Airport or vice versa may use Rao Tula Ram Marg to reach their destinations

Following are the routes to avoid during these hours:

Parade Road

Gurugram Road

Sardar Patel Marg

11:00 AM To 02:00 PM

To facilitate smooth traffic management in the vicinity of Sardar Patel Marg, Vikas Marg, Janpath Road and Tolstoy Road, the following measures will be implemented:

No halt and parking anywhere on C-Hexagon, Janpath Road, Sardar Patel Marg and other surrounding areas.

No halt and parking on Sikandra Road, Firoz Shah Road, MLNP, Vikas Marg, Noida Link Road Akshardham and adjoining roads.

Suggested Routes:

Commuters going from Dr. Rajender Prasad Marg towards Janpath Marg may use Raisina Road towards round about Windsor place to Ashoka Road to C Hexagon.

Commuters going towards Janpath Marg from Ashoka Road may use round about Windsor place to Ashoka Road to C Hexagon.

Commuters going towards Janpath from outer circle Connaught place (Janpath road) may use Ashoka Road to C Hexagon

Teen Murti Marg

Akbar Road (up to R/A MLNP)

Janpath Marg

Firoz Shah Road

06:00 PM to 09:00 PM

To facilitate effective traffic management around Sardar Patel Road, Panchsheel Marg, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Dhaula Kuan Flyover, NH-48, GDR and PDR, the following restrictions will be implemented:
No vehicle will be allowed to halt or park on Sardar Patel Marg, Kamal Ataturk Road, and surrounding areas.
No halt and parking on Gurugram Road, Parade Road, Thimmaiya Marg, Air Force Road and other surrounding areas
