1. In You Season 1, Joe Goldberg meets an aspiring writer named Guinevere Beck and becomes obsessed with her. He starts stalking her and they soon start dating. He kills Benji, Beck’s boyfriend by trapping him in a cage and then later giving him an allergic reaction.
2. Beck’s best friend Peach gets suspicious of her relationship with Joe. Thus, Joe tries to kill her but she survives. His relationship with Love takes a toll due to Peach but he shoots her and makes it seem like a suicide.
3. Later, Beck finds out about Joe’s truth and he traps her. Despite her attempt to free herself, Joe kills Beck in the end and blames it on her therapist, who also happens to be one of her ex-boyfriends.
4. In season 2, Joe moves to Los Angeles and changes his name to Will. He meets Love Quinn and also becomes obsessed with her. Candance, who was almost killed by Joe, returns and vows to take revenge. But Love and Joe start a loving relationship.
5. In a plot twist, Love is also a psychopath and kills Candance to save Joe. Now, Joe wants to get rid of Love as his obsession cools down but he finds out about her pregnancy. Turns out, Love was also stalking Joe since the beginning.
6. In the third season, Joe and Love have a baby boy and start a new life. However, he again starts a new obsession with Marriene and Love also starts seeing someone behind his back. She also goes on a killing spree again and her confession of murder is heard by their neighbours.
7. Joe and Love turn against each other to save themselves and try to kill each other. In the end, Joe saves himself by killing Love and flees to London.
8. In Season 4, he starts a new life in London and tries to find Marriene. He finds his friend Malcolm dead in his room and is certain that he didn’t do it. He also receives several text messages from someone, who knows about his past.
9. He becomes suspicious of his new friend group and also starts a new affair. He finds out his friend Rhys is behind the murders and those text messages. He kills Rhys, only to find out that Rhys is a figment of his imagination.
10. Joe kidnaps Marriene, who is found by his colleague Nadia. He begins hallucinating and tries to kill himself. He frames Nadia with the help of Kate, his new fling, and escapes London. He returns to New York to start his life again.
