‘Wednesday’ gained massive popularity among the audience ever since its release and the show is finally gearing up for the release of its second season. Jenna Ortega plays the titular role in Wednesday, which focuses on a mysterious young girl with psychic powers and her new life in Nevermore Academy. Netflix has officially given new update on the show and fans can’t keep calm.
Wednesday Season 2 New Update:
Netflix has announced that the much awaited teaser of Wednesday Season 2 will release online on April 23, that is today.
Sharing the new poster, Netflix wrote, “the suffering ends. the chaos begins.”
Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor have joined the show as the new cast. Meanwhile, Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo will be seen as new guest stars.
Singer-actress Lady Gaga is also confirmed for a cameo role in Wednesday Season 2. In an interview with Entertainment Weekely, she talked about her experience of being on the show. She said, “I don’t want to give away anything about being part of the show. I want to keep it extra secret — but, I love Jenna, and I really had an amazing time!”
Apart from Jenna, Wednesday Season 2 will also star Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Georgie Farmer, Naomi J. Ogawa, Christina Ricci, and Moosa Mostafa.
Talking about the new season, showrunners and executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar said, “This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries, propelling her headlong into another year at Nevermore.” The first episode of Wednesday Season 2 is titled “Here We Woe Again.” It is written by Gough and Millar, and directed by Tim Burton.
As per reports by ProductionWeekly, Wednesday will return for its third season as the cast will reportedly return to Ireland in Fall 2025 to film again. Meanwhile, a report by What’s On Netflix also claims that Wednesday Season 3 is currently under the development but the makers are using code name ‘Nightshade & Raven’.
Before Netflix’s Wednesday, many adaptations have been made on the Addams family. This includes two films The Addams Family and Addams Family Reunion, the live-action television shows ‘The Addams Family’ and ‘The New Addams Family’.
