26-Year-Old Navi Mumbai Man Accused Of Raping Woman He Met On Dating App News24 –

Thane: The Navi Mumbai Police on Monday registered a First Information Report (FIR) against a 26-year-old man. The individual identified as a resident of Seawoods, was accused of raping a woman whom he met on a dating app. According to reports, the shocking incident took place in September 2020, following which the Police registered a case under IPC sector 376 for rape.

The complainant in her report claimed that the accused sexually assaulted her at a building in Navi Mumbai’s Khargarh. Meanwhile, Deccan Herald quoted an official as saying, “No arrests have been made in the case. We are gathering evidence and ascertaining facts.”

In yet another shocking incident that came to light on Saturday, a 24-year-old man was arrested for repeatedly raping and harassing a woman in Thane. The accused, a resident of Bhiwandi, is an IT professional in Bhiwandi. He was booked on Thursday based on the complaint filed by the victim.

The complainant told Police that the man raped her between August 10, 2024 to April 23, 2025 with the promise of marriage. She further alleged that he even threatened to post objectionable pictures of her on social media, following which she broke off her ties with him. The accused allegedly visited her house later and demanded Rs 2 lakh to break up.
