TVS has been in the pursuit of upgrading their new line up with new vehicles such as the Apache RTX 300 which would compete against the likes of KTM adventure. Beyond that TVS is also planning to launch another competitor that would go against the likes of KTM SMC-R which is a dual sport oriented bike that would help the enthusiasts off road and commute with ease. In a recent update it has been revealed that TVS would soon be launching a new TVS Apache RTS X, the bike would be a off road oriented dual sport super moto.
The design of the bike has been patented as per a recent news update, and it’s possible that TVS might soon be launching the new RTS X since they have already patented the design to protect its IP. Such procedures are often done when the product nears its launch and brand seeks protection against unfair replication of the design .
Design Details
The patented design showcases the concept rather than the production spec variant, the patent filing has revealed that TVS has formidable plans to upgrade the lineup to be working on a super moto bike. TVS has already been able to be in a formidable position in the racing segment and its only evident that the brand wants to explore new market subsets and expand its grasp beyond. The RTS x was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo before the patent. Going by the appearance of the bike its clear that it would be meant for true off-roading enthusiasts and the bike would be targeted for an esoteric market. The bike has been crafted for aggressive performance and hence has been provided with a commanding riding position. The fuel tank of the bike has been seamlessly etched into the tank and the seat that extends till the tail light.
Going by the pre production spec vehicle seen on the show the bike would have a substantial Monoshock at the rear. The rear subframe has integrated tail lights and an exhaust system. The front suspension duties would be handled by USD telescopic forks which would be adjustable for compression and preload.
It’s possible that the RTS X might be powered by the RTXD4 299cc single cylinder liquid cooled unit with DOHC 4 valve engine. The engine is able to generate 35 Bhp peak power and 28.5 Nm of peak torque.
