Indian Navy Hold Drills In Arabian Sea Amid Rising India-Pak Tensions News24 –

The Indian Navy strengthened its Arabian Sea operations by carrying out drills in the Exclusive Economic Zone while boosting maritime security as part of heightened regional tensions after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Recent times have seen defense forces execute multiple anti-ship and anti-aircraft firings because their warships maintain high alert status to safeguard Indian interests and prevent regional threats.

For enhanced surveillance operations along the international maritime boundary at the Gujarat coast the Indian Coast Guard has deployed vessels whose activities align with the Indian Navy.

The Indian Navy reported successful multiple anti-ship missile firings from its warships during early Sunday activities as stated by its official announcement.

The Indian Navy spokesperson used X to declare that the missile tests ensured the operational preparedness of warfare capabilities across platforms and systems and crews performing accurate long-distance attacks.

The purpose of this exercise was to show the Navy’s combat preparedness together with its ability to defend maritime interests of India.

“Indian Navy Ships undertook successful multiple anti-ship firings to revalidate and demonstrate readiness of platforms, systems and crew for long-range precision offensive strike. Indian Navy stands Combat Ready, Credible and Future Ready in safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests Anytime Anywhere Anyhow,” the post stated

The activities occurred after a terrorist incident in Pahalgam Jammu and Kashmir targeted 26 people forcing tensions to increase between India and Pakistan.

A successful test of the Medium range surface-to-air missile (MR-SAM) air defence missile system happened when Indian Navy vessel INS Surat operated in the Arabian Sea.

“Indian Navy’s latest indigenous guided missile destroyer INS Surat successfully carried out a precision cooperative engagement of a sea skimming target, marking another milestone in strengthening our defence capabilities,” the Indian Navy said on X.
