CM Punk Causes Chaos With Chair, Major Return, Roman Reigns Accused News24 –

The final episode of WWE Raw leading up to Backlash 2025 did not disappoint, delivering exciting moments throughout. Superstars left everything on the table to entertain the audience, with highlight-reel matches in both the men’s and women’s divisions. The main event saw a hotly contested battle for the World Heavyweight Championship, and pandemonium erupted late in the evening. Here is a complete breakdown of the evening:

Jey Uso the Kickoff Show Opener – Paul Heyman Delivers Bombshell to Roman Reigns

The evening began with Jey Uso, who got a huge reaction from the fans. He challenged Logan Paul, but Paul Heyman showed up instead. Jey told Heyman that he had also warned Roman Reigns and CM Punk against believing him. Heyman replied by saying he was the one who made Reigns a megastar.

Heyman then alleged Reigns deserted him at a tough moment with Solo Sikoa and disclosed Reigns only came back for Ulā Fala. When Jey asked about Heyman’s motive, Heyman replied Seth Rollins deserves to be the champion now. Logan Paul offered Jey the idea of confronting Seth for the title, and Jey asserted he’s ready to defend the title right there on Raw.

Penta vs. JD McDonagh + Sheamus Makes His Return

Penta battled JD McDonagh in a tough battle. Finn Bálor and Carlito showed up at ringside, and they interfered early, but the referee disqualified them. Penta tried to go for a top-rope maneuver when Chad Gable got in the way. Penta caught Gable mid-air with a kick and then followed through to hit McDonagh with the Mexican Destroyer to get the victory.

Sheamus made a shock comeback to face Austin Theory in the ring. Theory attempted to get assistance from Grayson Waller, but it was not forthcoming. Sheamus finished the match with a Brogue Kick to secure the victory. It was later announced that Penta will take on Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship at Backlash.

Becky Lynch & Lyra Valkyria Brawl | IYO SKY vs. Roxanne Perez

Becky Lynch shot at Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, asserting that Lyra would not have made it if it were not for her. Lyra stopped her and insulted Becky, which resulted in a fierce melee. Officials attempted to pull them apart, but Lyra then struck Becky with her Nightwing finisher, standing tall.

Later, IYO SKY clashed with Roxanne Perez in an action-packed aerial match. The two ladies delighted the audience, but SKY emerged victorious. Following the match, they had a handshake—the handshake was until Julia jumped out from behind to attack SKY. It was a setup since Roxanne soon joined in to help Julia dispatch the Women’s World Champion in a double-team attack.

Rusev Overpowers Otis | Gunther Back with Warning

Rusev made his first appearance since his return to WWE and wrestled against Otis. He won with ease and carried on his rampage following the bell by powerbombing Akira Tozawa, followed by slamming Otis into the ring post twice. He applied Otis a submission hold until security stopped him.

At the same time, Gunther returned to Raw on a segment featuring Pat McAfee. The two had words with each other, and McAfee asked why Gunther attacked Michael Cole. Gunther, angry, promised to destroy McAfee at Backlash, leaving the commentator worried.

Main Event: Jey Uso vs. Seth Rollins – Chaos Breaks Out

The World Heavyweight Championship was up for grabs as Seth Rollins battled Jey Uso in an action-packed main event. The two competitors left everything they had on the mat, with Rollins taking over sections of the match with his trademark attack. Jey hit a Spear but Rollins was able to counter it flawlessly.

While Jey attempted to scale the ropes for an explosive move, Bron Breakker distracted him and gave Rollins an opportunity to land the Stomp. However, he failed to get the victory.

Sami Zayn proceeded to charge in and assault Breakker, but Breakker fought back by Spearing Zayn and Jey outside the ring. Just when Rollins was about to hit Jey with another Stomp, CM Punk’s music sounded. Punk made his way into the ring with a chair and attacked Rollins and Breakker, sending the show into total chaos. The episode concluded with Punk, Zayn, and Jey standing tall in the ring.
