Ahmedabad Tipped To Host PBKS Vs MI Clash On May 11 Due To THIS Reason! News24 –

The much-anticipated IPL match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians, originally scheduled at Dharamsala, may now be shifted to Ahmedabad due to unexpected logistical hurdles. The Narendra Modi Stadium is being considered as a potential alternative, with the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) kept in the loop.

BCCI Reached Out GCA

The possible venue change has been triggered by the closure of airports in both Chandigarh and Dharamsala. According to Cricbuzz report, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reached out to the GCA, which has reportedly expressed its willingness to host the game.

Despite the potential relocation, the match will still be played on its original date May 11. An official announcement regarding the final venue is expected in a few hours.

MI To Stay On Standby

Mumbai Indians, who have been on standby for further instructions from the BCCI since Wednesday, are now expected to depart for Ahmedabad on Thursday evening. The team had earlier canceled their scheduled travel to Dharamsala via Chandigarh due to the airport shutdown. According to sources, the BCCI has asked the franchise to confirm travel arrangements by Thursday evening.

On the other hand, Punjab Kings officials have stated that they have not received any formal communication regarding a venue change. The team continues to prepare for their upcoming match against Delhi Capitals, set to take place Thursday night at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.

However, the airport closures pose a significant logistical challenge for the BCCI. Without available flights, teams may be forced to undertake a 10-hour road journey to Delhi just to connect to other IPL venues.
