IPL In UAE? BCCI In Talks With UAE And ECB To Host Remaining IPL Matches In UAE After Shutting Doors For PSL News24 –

The sudden suspension of the Indian Premier League has caused dissatisfaction among Indian Cricket fans. Earlier, the news was out that the suspension of the IPL has been for just 1 week, and after thoroughly analyzing the current situation, it might resume from 16 May onwards. Now, the central board of controlling cricket in the nation, the BCCI, is in talks with the UAE government and the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) to host the remaining matches of IPL 2025 in the UAE.

ECB Likely To Shut Door For PSL

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) posted on X that the remaining PSL matches will be played in UAE but according to sources in close proximity with the ECB, UAE is likely to shut its doors for Pakistan and PSL due to the diversity of the people in UAE especially from the South Asian diaspora. Hosting PSL in such a tense landscape can be very disappointing for the sentiments of the majority of people. In the midst of rising tensions between India and Pakistan, hosting PSL can be a security threat for UAE.

ECB And BBCI’s Strong Relations

The recent developments have contributed to the fear by the Emirates Cricket Board that be seen as an ally of the PCB, something that it thinks may be implied through the act of harbouring PSL. The Emirates Cricket Board has had an excellent relationship with the BCCI over the last few years, hosting the ‘India’ edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, editions of the IPL, and India matches during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
