England Cricket Board (ECB) Welcomes IPL With Open Arms, Possible Arrangements For The League In Talks News24 –
After the sudden suspension of the Indian Premier League on 9 May due to the rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the BCCI has moved to propose continuing the remaining matches of the IPL 2025 in the UAE after declining Pakistan’s request to continue the remaining matches of the PSL in the UAE. Apart from the UAE, England has also welcomed the BCCI to host the remaining IPL matches, The Cricketer said.

ECB Relationship With BCCI
There is normally a cordial relationship between the BCCI and the ECB, and both groups have had a history of using each other. This has been seen in many forms, ranging from vanals, scheduling of international series, to even talks about sharing work on new formats like The Hundred. In the current day scenario where IPL is on hold due to political differences, it is interesting to note that the ECB has even proposed hosting the rest of the games in England.
UAE Likely To Shut Door For PSL
Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board posted on X that the remaining PSL matches will be played in the UAE, but sources close to the ECB say that the UAE may not open its borders for Pakistan and PSL because of the diversity of the people living in the UAE, particularly from the South Asian Diaspora. Such an environment to host PSL can be so disappointing for the sentiments of most people. With tensions between India and Pakistan heating up, a PSL at this time can be a security threat for the UAE.
