Air India Cancels Flights To 8 Cities For May 13, Delhi Airport Issues Advisory Amid Security Concerns News24 –


Following IndiGo’s announcement, Air India has also cancelled its flight operations to and from eight locations on Tuesday, May 13. The decision has been taken in light of the latest developments, with safety of passengers being the top priority. The affected cities include Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot. Air India stated that the airline is continuously monitoring the situation and will keep the passengers updated.

In a statement posted on X, Air India said, “In view of the latest developments and keeping your safety in mind, flights to and from Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot are cancelled for Tuesday, 13th May. We are monitoring the situation and will keep you updated.”

Notably, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Monday had announced the reopening of 32 airports across northern and western India for civil flight operations, three days after their temporary closure was extended until Thursday next (May 15) amid escalating India-Pakistan tensions.

Delhi Airport Issues Advisory

Meanwhile, Delhi Airport has issued an advisory for flyers. It states that the Airport operations remain normal, however, due to evolving airspace conditions and enhanced security measures directed by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, some flight schedules may be impacted, and security processing times could be longer.

Stay informed through updates from their respective airlines.

Follow hand baggage and check-in luggage regulations.

Arrive early to allow for potential delays at security checkpoints.

Cooperate with airline and security staff for smooth facilitation.
