IMD Weather LIVE Updates: The Indian subcontinent is expected to witness an early onset of the Southwest Monsoon in 2025. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded an alert for significant weather changes in the coming days. Notably, rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is expected to lash multiple regions during next week.
India is currently witnessing diverse weather patterns, with rain in southern states and heat waves in northern states. IMD has predicted isolated heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya during 17th-21st; Tripura on 17th & 18th; Karnataka on 19th & 30th; Kerala & Mahe during 17th-22nd;
Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Interior Karnataka during 17th-20th; Lakshadweep on 20th; Coastal
Andhra Pradesh, Telangana on 17th and Rayalaseema on 19th & 20th May.
On the other hand, heat wave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets of Jammu & Kashmir on 17th and 18th; Southwest Uttar Pradesh on 17th; West Rajasthan during 17th-22nd; North Madhya Pradesh on 18th & 19th May. Additionally, hot & humid weather is expected to prevail over Bihar and Odisha on 16th & 17th May.
