Odisha: As Puri gears up to celebrate Shreekhetra Bhaunri on May 19, the Puri Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory. The advisory outlines traffic diversions & restrictions along with information regarding no-vehicle zones and parking arrangements to avoid overcrowding of devotees during the significant event. To ensure public safety and smooth flow of traffic, Puri Police has designated several areas as no-vehicle zones.
No Vehicle Zone
- Market Square to Exit point of Raybahadur Lane via Narendra Kona
- Narendra Kona to Souchalaya Chhak
- Souchalaya Chhak to Devighata Chhak
- Majena lane and Akshay Patra Lane from Badadanda side
Parking Arrangements
- Parking for vehicles coming from Market Square will be available at JBPC and Municipality Parking
- Parking facilities are available for vehicles en route from Mangalaghata side at under Srisetu Bridge near Bisweswari Chhaka.
NOTE: Commuters must note that all the “vehicles coming from the Mangalahata will be diverted from Devighata chhak to Kumbharapada Chhak via Jatiababa Chhaka.

Ahead of the festivities, Puri Police have been conducting surprise inspections at various hotels across Puri to ensure safety for every visitor and resident. The authorities are reviewing CCTV coverage and security measures actively across the pilgrimage town. The Shreekhetra Bhaunri marks the end of the 42-day-long Chandan Yatra.
