After YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, Businessman Nabbed From UP For Spying For Pakistani Intelligence Agency For Years News24 –

Uttar Pradesh’s Anti-Terrorist Squad on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly smuggling goods across the border and for spying for the Pakistani intelligence agency.

The police reported receiving a tip-off that a man stationed at the India-Pakistan border was involved in smuggling activities with support from a Pakistani agency. The informant also claimed that the man was spying for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and participating in activities against national interests. As quoted by the Indian Express, ATS mentioned that, “The police arrested Shehzad from Moradabad on Sunday.”

The ATS then presented its gathering of evidence to the court, filing a case under charges of acts against India’s sovereignty, unity, and integrity, along with others, at the ATS police station.

According to the police, it was revealed in their investigations that Shehzad had been crossing the border illegally from India to Pakistan for years, bringing merchandise such as cosmetics, clothes, spices, and similar things with him. He went on these trips for ISI, maintained frequent contact with their agents and provided them with confidential information about India’s security, the police claim.

The police revealed that, during further investigation, they uncovered that Shehzad gave funds to agents in India upon orders from ISI of Pakistan. Reports suggest he also recruits people from Rampur and various areas of Uttar Pradesh, pretending they will smuggle items to Pakistan, when in fact, he sends them to recruit for ISI. According to the police, Shehzad helped the ISI by giving their agents Indian SIM cards and helped them with their paperwork as well.

Earlier, Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra was arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan.
