Yellow Alert For Bengaluru; Heat Wave Warning Issued For Rajasthan And Haryana News24 –


IMD Weather LIVE Updates: Many states are currently witnessing the early arrival of monsoon. Some are even experiencing heavy, incessant rain accompanied by gusty winds, thunderstorms, and lightning. The monsoon is set to mark its arrival in Kerala on May 27, 2025. States such as Maharashtra will also witness the early onset of monsoon during the first week of June.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru has been reeling under torrential rainfall over the past few days, leading to traffic disruptions and severe waterlogging. The situation has turned dire in different parts of the city as the drainage system is struggling to cope with the heavy volume of rainwater. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘yellow’ alert for Bengaluru and 22 other districts in Karnataka, until May 22. 

The Weather Body has predicted rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching 30-50 kmph over Northeast India during the next 7 days. The affected regions include Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, likely to see heavy downpour today, while Kerala & Mahe, Karnataka will receive rain from 20th-25th May. Torrential rain will also be witnessed over Rayalaseema during 20th-21st; Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana on 20th May; South Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan & Goa during 20th-25th May; Marathawada on 20th-21st May, etc.
