Royal Enfield Developing New 250CC Hybrid Bikes Powered By Engines From This Company! Key Details Revealed News24 –
Royal Enfield is in the pursuit of expanding their grasp in newer sub 300 and 350cc segment with a slew of new smaller engine bikes. The Company is reportedly in an advanced round of communication with Chinese Motorcycle giant CF Moto to license engine technology for a new generation of 250cc bikes as reported by Autocar.
As per the report, Royal Enfield’s new move is a decisive effort that would easily help the brand to meet India’s looming fuel efficiency mandates. Beyond that it would also help the brand bring in a new bike within the sub 350 range to further gain the benefits of being able to ramp up sales in a new segment.
The New 250CC Engine To Be A Hybrid
The New engine that would spawn out of the relationship between Royal Enfield and CF Moto would be designed to comply with India’s stringent BSVI phase 2 emissions standards and Upcoming Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency Norms for two wheels. As reported the engine that has been developed by CF moto has been designed with Hybrid adaptability in perspective. Such changes would help the brand future proof itself.
Such adaptability would help the brand pivot towards a mild- hybrid and Full hybrid configurations later this decade. While the engine might be borrowed from CF Moto, Royal Enfield would maintain its authentic appeal by designing the chassis suspension and the overall design of the bike themselves. The partnership between the two brands would be purely technical and no co branded bikes would be developed.
Expansive Plans With The New Powertrain
With The new engine Royal Enfield plans to dominate the fast growing entry level premium Motorcycle segment. The Bikes within this range would be priced between Rs 1.25 lakh and 1.35 Lakh. As expected, the new 250cc bikes would sit below the 350cc bikes to ensure that buyers and commuters upgrading from 100-150cc bikes can easily move towards the new bikes.
The new Hybrid Approach would enable Royal Enfield’s goal to double its annual production from 1 million to 2 million units by 2030 Beyond the new Hybrid Plans. The company would also be working towards the development of a new 750cc twin cylinder platform as well as an EV program, as the company moves ahead to diversify its portfolio.
