The much anticipated trailer for Squid Game Season 3 is here! The second season ended on a big cliffhanger with The Frontman successfully betraying all the players. Haunted by the death of his friend Jung Bae in Season 2, the trailer teases an intense showdown between Gi Hun (Player 456) and the Front Man, with questions lingering “Why did you let me live?”
The trailer opens with a twisted version of the classic Red Light, Green Light, featuring the creepy doll Young Hee, whose role seems to have evolved. The Tug of War game also makes a return with a sinister twist, while the haunting children’s room from the posters sets the stage for a brutal showdown highlighting the “baby born into hell” that will test humanity’s limits.

The cast this season includes Lee Jung-jae as Gi-hun, Lee Byung-hun as the Front Man/In-ho, Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-jun, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Jo Yuri, Lee David and Roh Jae-won.
Season 3 is set to premiere on June 27, 2025, on Netflix. The show is created, written, directed and produced by Hwang Dong-hyuk.
“The new season will show what Gi-hun does next after all his plans fail,” says Hwang Dong-hyuk in an interview with Tudum. Season 3 picks up right after Season 2, where Gi-hun tried to fight back against the people running the Squid Game. Sadly, his plan didn’t work and many of his friends died.
“He’s completely heartbroken after losing everything and seeing his efforts go to waste,” Hwang adds. He further explains, “The story then takes a new turn, asking whether Gi-hun can move past his shame and stand up again to show that human values like kindness and conscience can survive even in such a cruel place.”
