The Odisha police arrested a 57-year-old woman after she allegedly set her 72-year-old landlord on fire in Ganjam district.
Woman wanted to grab the landlord’s property
According to NDTV, the accused has been identified as Sudeshna Jena, who wanted to grab the landlord’s property, the police said. The victim has been identified as Harihar Sahu.
A senior police officer said that Jena and Sahu had been in a relationship for the last five years.
Landlord succumbed to his injuries
The police said the incident occurred early morning of May 29 when Sahu was sleeping. Jena approached her, poured kerosene on him, and set him on fire. He was taken to a hospital in Berhampur but later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Cuttack.
Delhi: Woman stabbed to death by husband’s second wife
A woman was stabbed to death by second wife of her husband in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar area. The Delhi Police found the body of the woman with multiple stab injuries.
According to Delhi Police, they received an early morning call was received at Jamia Nagar Police Station. On reaching at the spot, the dead body of Nasbu, wife of Ansar Khan, was found on the fourth floor of a flat with multiple stab injuries.
Ansar Khan had two wives
On further enquiry, it was established that Ansar Khan had two wives, namely Afasri and Nasbu. Afasri has three sons, and both wives were living in the same flat while their husband was in Saudi Arabia.
According to the police, no forced entry has been made, and the body of the deceased has multiple sharp injuries on the neck and stomach.
