Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms And Dust Storms To Hit Multiple States; Travel Disruptions Likely News24 –
IMD Weather LIVE Updates: Several states are experiencing extreme weather conditions attributed to western disturbances. Rain followed by thunderstorms swept through Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Tripura during the past 24 hours. In a detailed forecast, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh alert against more rain in several regions.
The affected places likely to receive intense downpour are Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, on 3rd June; Kerala & Mahe during 3rd-4th June. The IMD said, “The Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through 17.0°N/55°E, 17.5°N/60°E, 18°N/65°E, 18.5°N/70°E, Mumbai, Ahilyanagar, Adilabad, Bhawanipatna, Puri, Sandhead Island, 23.5°N/89.5°E, Balurghat, 30°N/85°E.”
Meanwhile, West Rajasthan can expect dust storms till the 5th of June. Notably, commuters in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, and Jharkhand may face delays and traffic disruptions in the coming days due to rain. Those planning a trip to these regions must make their travel plans accordingly. The Weather Body has also issued a warning for thundersquall wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph and later gusting to 70 kmph over West Madhya Pradesh on 3rd and 4th June.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather is likely to prevail over Odisha till 6th June and over Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during 3rd-4th June.
