Monsoon Advances Further North As Western Disturbance Influences Weather Over Northwest India News24 –

IMD Weather LIVE Updates: India is set to experience varied weather conditions on June 6, with widespread rainfall predicted over several regions. Northeast India will continue to receive light to moderate showers, with isolated heavy rainfall in some areas, while parts of East, Central, Northwest, and South Peninsular India can expect scattered rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds. Meanwhile, temperatures are on the rise, particularly over Northwest and Central India, where a gradual heat buildup is anticipated. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued early heatwave warnings for parts of Rajasthan later this week. Here’s a detailed look at the regional weather forecast for June 6.

The Northern Limit of the Southwest Monsoon continues to progress steadily, now passing through key locations including Mumbai, Ahilyanagar, Adilabad, Bhawanipatna, and Puri, extending up to Balurghat and parts of northern India near 30°N latitude. Meanwhile, a significant Western Disturbance—a trough located in the middle and upper tropospheric levels around 5.8 km above sea level—is currently affecting areas north of 24°N along longitude 80°E. Additionally, an upper air cyclonic circulation remains persistent over central Pakistan and adjoining northwest Rajasthan at lower atmospheric levels. These combined weather systems are shaping the prevailing weather patterns across northern and western India, influencing rainfall and temperature of the regions.
