Royal Enfield is in the pursuit of expanding their grasp in newer sub 300 and 350cc segment with a slew of new smaller engine bikes. The Company is reportedly in an advanced round of communication with Chinese Motorcycle giant CF Moto to license engine technology for a new generation of 250cc bikes as reported by Autocar.
As per the report, Royal Enfield’s new move is a decisive effort that would easily help the brand to meet India’s looming fuel efficiency mandates. Beyond that, it would also help the brand bring in a new bike within the sub 350 range to further gain the benefits of being able to ramp up sales in a new segment.
The New 250CC Engine To Be A Hybrid
The New engine that would spawn out of the relationship between Royal Enfield and CF Moto would be designed to comply with India’s stringent BSVI phase 2 emissions standards and Upcoming Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency Norms for two wheels. As reported, the engine that has been developed by CF moto has been designed with Hybrid adaptability in perspective. Such changes would help the brand future proof itself.
Such adaptability would help the brand pivot towards a mild- hybrid and Full hybrid configurations later this decade. While the engine might be borrowed from CF Moto, Royal Enfield would maintain its authentic appeal by designing the chassis suspension and the overall design of the bike themselves. The partnership between the two brands would be purely technical and no co branded bikes would be developed.
Royal Enfield Flying Flea
Royal Enfield has also been planning to grasp new emerging markets outside of India. Hence the brand has been hard at work producing some of the most high tech new offerings that would become the go to choice for Foreign buyers. The Flying flea has been one such Vehicle. The vehicle was recently launched in CES and showcased for the technological advances that have been taken from Snapdragon.
The Flying Flea
The Flying Flea is one of the first motorcycles to integrate such technology via the Snapdragon Car To Cloud Platform. Mario Alvisi, The Chief Growth officer of Royal Enfield spoke on the matter. He talked about how most of the tech that goes in the Flying Flea has been developed by Royal Enfield themselves but the integration of the Snapdragon Qualcomm technologies is a significant step towards the future of the company. Such a step as per, Mario Alvisi would help the brand bring a unique and differentiated product experience.
CES’s New Innovation The Snapdragon QWM2290 SoC
The QWM2290 SoC has been specifically designed to support EV two wheelers. The chip would play an integral role in empowering the vehicle control unit, running an inhouse operating system developed by flying flea. Such advanced integration and operating system allows the user to manage all aspects of their bike and its ride through the interactive true round TFT cluster.
Interceptor 750, Continental GT 750
The internet is flooded with reports of new 750cc bikes that would be launching soon. Royal Enfield has been working closely to launch the all new . There have been a few sightings of possibly a new engine being tested by Royal Enfield. This would be one of the most powerful bikes in the whole lineup. The Continental GT might be launched with a new Cafe racer style fairing that has been seen on the vehicle being tested.
