Accused Confesses To Killing With Knife In Initial Probe News24 –

In a latest development in the Sheetal Simmi Chaudhary murder case, Haryana Police will produce the accused (Sheetal’s friend) before the court on Tuesday. He was arrested last night in connection with the case. After securing the remand, police will begin further investigation. The accused identified as Sunil is a resident of Israna, a village in Panipat. Notably, Haryanvi model Sheetal’s body was recovered from a water canal in the Kharkhoda area of Sonipat district in Haryana on Sunday. The family had lodged a missing complaint of Sheetal at Matlauda police station on June 15.

What Did Police Say?

DSP Headquarters, Satish Vats said that on June 15, a woman, resident of Satkartar Colony of Panipat had stated in a complaint filed with Matlauda police station that they are 5 siblings. Her fourth sister Sheetal (24) lives with her, and worked as a model in Haryanvi albums. On May 14, Sheetal went to Ahar village for shooting and did not return. They searched for her on their own but could not find her anywhere.

Based on her complaint, the police registered a case under section 127(6) of the BNS and started the search. He added that on Monday morning, Sonipat police found the body of a woman in a canal near Kharkhoda. On investigation, the body was identified as that of Sheetal. Her body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.

The police registered a murder case against the accused Sunil. In the initial interrogation, the accused admitted to killing Sheetal with a knife. The accused staged a drama of the car falling into the canal to escape from police custody after committing the murder.

DSP Vats further said that the police will produce the accused in court today. He will be then interrogated thoroughly to ascertain the motive behind Sheetal’s killing. Haryana police is also looking for the knife used in the crime.
