IMD Predicts Heavy Rain, Cooler Temperatures Across Multiple States News24 –

North India Monsoon LIVE Updates: Weather conditions have turned favourable for the advancement of the Southwest Monsoon in Central, Western, Eastern, and North India. A notable dip in temperatures brought significant respite to the citizens from the intense heat that gripped several states. Monsoon is currently at an active phase, and is expected to bring heavy to extremely heavy rain over Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, East Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar during the next two days.

Monsoon set foot in Delhi and Kolkata on Tuesday, with showers lashing parts of the cities. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted pre-monsoon showers to hit Northeast India during the next 5 days, with extremely heavy falls over Meghalaya on 18th and 19th June. The Weather Department said that India is set to receive rainfall above average during the last days of June.

The latest forecast comes at a time when a scorching heatwave has still gripped several regions. While the torrential rains will likely continue across different parts of North India until June 22, temperatures are expected to see a significant drop after June 20. Residents are advised to brace their preparations and make necessary arrangements during the rainy season.
