Leh-Bound IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing In Delhi Due To Mid-Air Technical Snag News24 –


A Leh-bound IndiGo flight made an emergency landing on Thursday at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi. The flight carrying 180 passengers was en route to Leh from Delhi. After reporting a technical snag mid-air, the flight 6E2006 was forced to return shortly after departure. The fight landed safely around 1 hour 14 minutes ago. All passengers have been deplaned safely. Further investigation is underway to determine the nature of the technical issue.

Earlier Incidents

Earlier, an IndiGo aircraft’s door failed to open for 30 minutes after landing at the Raipur airport on Wednesday. Former CM Bhupesh Baghel was among the passengers who were stuck in the aircraft along with others. A technical malfunction reportedly occurred in IndiGo aircraft 6E 6312, which had departed from Delhi and landed at the Raipur airport. The crew made several attempts to open the door but failed to unlock it. The cabin screen did not reflect signals related to the door mechanism. Finally, the emergency response team was contacted.

Notably, there have been rise in number of cases related to flight diversions and emergency landing.

On June 17, The IndiGo flight from Muscat to Kochi, and further to Delhi was diverted to Nagpur due to security concerns. IndiGo flight 6E1272, travelling from Muscat to Kochi, while continuing as flight 6E2706 from Kochi to Delhi, was rerouted to Nagpur on Tuesday due to a security issue.
