Who Is Sanjay Verma? Bride Sonam Raghuvanshi Called Him 100 Times Before Marriage News24 –

Meghalaya honeymoon murder case: As days go by, new revelations and twists are emerging in the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case. Sonam Raghuvanshi has been arrested in connection with the murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, an Indore-based businessman. She is allegedly said to have conspired with her boyfriend Raj Kushwaha, who hired three hitmen to kill Raja. A discovery and a lead have led police to trace a man named Sanjay Verma. According to the police, Sonam has called him 100 times before her marriage.

On Wednesday, the police revealed a key detail in the case. They said that the name “Verma” was not the real identity of the person Sonam was in contact with. It was an alias used by her boyfriend, Raj Kushwaha. This new information has added another twist to the ongoing investigation.

“We have discovered that Sonam made over 100 phone calls to one Sanjay Verma before her marriage to Raja,” PTI quoted East Khasi Hills district SP Vivek Syiem as saying. The police further noted that the calls continued even after the wedding. “Our team is in Indore and is questioning a few people to find out if somebody has to gain from Raja’s death,” he further said. However, accused Sonam Raghuvanshi’s brother, Govind, has also claimed he did not know of anyone named Sanjay Verma.

Govind said, “I don’t know anything about Sanjay Verma. I had come to show you all the places where Raj used to work. Nothing has been seized from here. I don’t know anything about Sanjay. I have also learned today that Sanjay’s name is also coming up in this.”  As per the probe, three hitmen were sent by Kushwaha to carry out the gruesome crime in the presence of Sonam on May 23.

Raja was hacked to death last month in Sohra, East Khasi Hills district, while on honeymoon. All five accused, including Sonam, have been arrested. Police recreated the crime scene on Tuesday as part of the investigation.

Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder Case

About nine days after their grand wedding, Sonam Raghuvanshi and her husband left for Meghalaya for their honeymoon. On May 23, both went missing in Sohra, a scenic hill town located around 65 km from Shillong. Later, on June 2, Raja Raghuvanshi’s body was found in a highly decomposed state. The investigation revealed that after the murder, Sonam fled the state and travelled through Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh before finally reaching Indore.
