Bajaj Auto’s Avenger had been a formidable choice for users in the 200cc segment, but Bajaj pulled the plug on it, in the recent past. the fan favorite might be making a comeback as a latest homologation update has revealed that Bajaj Avenger would be relaunched. A recent report by Rushlane revealed that the Bajaj 220 street is likely to launch soon.
The Homologation documents have further revealed the performance specs of the Avenger 220. The homologation document has revealed that the Avenger 220 cruise is positioned as the base model and Avenger 220 street is listed as a variant as well. The Document further reveals that it has a gross weight of 310Kg, wheelbase of 1490mm and a width of 806mm.
Prospective Launch
The Launch would happen soon, Both the street as well as the cruise would be similar to the older models. They would offer what the avenger brand has stood for all these years. A timely addition to the 200 cc cruiser segment that has witnessed a formidable consumer interest in the recent past.
The Bike would be powered by a oil cooled SOHC 2V/cy; single Cylinder 220cc engine as Avenger 220 cruise with 19.03Ps of peak power and 17.55 Nm of peak torque. The bike would still be powered by a 5 speed gearbox.
The KTM RC 200 is powered by a 199.5 cc single cylinder engine producing 25.4 bhp and 19.5 Nm of peak torque. The Liquid cooled motor is further paired with a 6 speed gearbox. The bike is still modeled around a trellis frame chassis suspended by WP apex USD forks and beyond that the bike also has a WP rear monoshock. With the addition of the new display the bike would be able to offer better value for money.
